Hello and Well Met!
I am Robert, owner of MoonShadow Farm - which is a grandiose way of saying if something goes wrong around here,
ultimately, it's my fault! Here is where I will try to inform you on the 'whys' and 'wherefores' of this
patch of Mother Earth that I try to caretake. If there is anything I haven't covered that you are curious about,
ask away! If I don't have the answer, I'll find it...or make it up as I go along.
Currently, the farm is in flux, while I look for a permanent place to settle down on. For the last 4 years, I've
been here, about 2 miles south of the small town of White Bird, Idaho, on the banks of the Salmon River; which is
just about 80 miles south of Lewiston, and only 17 miles east of Hell's Canyon. As you might expect with a name
like Hell's Canyon, the climate here is HOT = too hot, really, to grow most produce (especially cool-season crops)
much past June. On the other hand, the winters are very mild, compared to the surrounding mountains - hence the
name "Idaho banana belt".
